FDA requirements under ACE webinar next week
May 3, 2017

As        As you may know, effective May 30, 2017, the FDA is requiring additional data from food importers to comply with the Foreign Supplier Verification (FSV) program requirements under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

The FDA has advised that there won’t be a phase-in period for the implementation of these requirements, and the start date will not be extended.

Starting May 30, 2017, the following U.S. owner or consignee information must be included for each food product being imported into the United States:

DUNS number
Company name
c.   Company address
d.   Contact email
e.   Optional additional elements: contact individual name, telephone number

If there’s no U.S. owner or consignee at the time of importation, the importer must provide the same information for an agent or representative. This must be confirmed in a signed statement of consent between the two parties.
