FDA system outage scheduled for Aug 4 to 5
August 3, 2017

Dear Valued Client,

Planned FDA system outage August 4-5
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has advised that their computer system will be down for a scheduled maintenance from 10:00 p.m. EDT Friday, August 4 to 8:00 a.m. EDT Saturday, August 5.

This affects all FDA systems including ACE, ITACS (FDA imaging system), as well as the FDA operating system (OASIS), which is used for entry review.

During this time, the FDA cannot receive or send messages. FDA May Proceed statuses and Prior Notice confirmations will not be returned. As a result, the FDA will be operating under Prior Notice Contingency Scenario 2.

What this means to you
You may wish to avoid shipping FDA-regulated goods requiring Prior Notice during the affected outage time.

For shipments that will cross during the outage, we recommend that you submit documentation for clearance sufficiently in advance to ensure that the entry has been processed and Prior Notice has been confirmed.

This can be verified on the Livingston Tracker at www.livingstontracker.com

Please submit your documents for clearance no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 4 for shipments crossing the border that require FDA Prior Notice.

For Livingston customers who obtain their own Prior Notice confirmation on the FDA’s website PNSI, please include a copy of Prior Notice confirmation number and time stamp to present to Customs officers for cargo release.

Any questions may be directed to fda@livingstonintl.com

Sincerely,
The Affiliated/Livingston Team
